"Envision conscious design" is the central theme of the BraunPrize 2009 Competition held this seventeenth year.
This international design competition has been held by the Braun Company since 1968. The objective of the competition is to promote the work of young designers around the world and help develop a greater esteem for the factors and criteria that lead to the design of better products. This competition also contributes to establishing and creating connections between young designers, the industry and potential clients. The competition is open to design students and young designers that graduated in the past two years. Participants may submit proposals for products designed for the home, the work environment, schools, sports, leisure, healthcare and personal grooming. The proposed products will be examined according to the following parameters: Design - innovation, aesthetics, clarity and ergonomics Technology - functionality Serviceability - the quality of service it provides for the users Awards: First award € 12,000 + Internship sponsored for six months Finalists € 5000 To the competition website
