The Israeli Design Center presents: “Islands in the Urban Stream” Conference

On Thursday, April 30th 2009 the Israeli Design Center, Mediatheque Holon, will hold the “Islands in the Urban Stream” Conference. This conference examines park planning and nature conservation in the urban arena. Designers, architects, landscape architects, conservationists, environmentalists and cultural experts from Israel and abroad will be attending.

The Israeli Design Center presents: "Environment - Energy - Design: Rethinking the way" Conference

On Thursday, December 11th, the Israeli Design Center will hold the Holon Conference of Design 2008. The conference focuses on the effects and meanings of the environmental crisis, and the accelerated development of alternative energy sources in various fields of design and industry, in Israel and worldwide.

Living Systems

On Wednesday, November 12th 2008, at 19:00 the Material Library in the Israeli Design Center of Mediatheque Holon will host a fascinating one-time lecture by designer and architect Liat Margolis, who is visiting Israel. The lecture will discuss innovative materials and technologies for landscape architecture.

"From Material to Product 2008" Competition

The first judging stage of "From Material to Product 2008" design competition has ended. The three winners, chosen from the list of twenty-two finalists, will be announced during the official award ceremony that will be held during the Holon Design Conference On December 11th 2008.

The design competition "From Material to Product 2008"

Yonatan Bar Or Designers Studio designs for over a decade some of the most progressive personal medical equipment, in Israel and worldwide. On our visit to the Studio we were exposed to design, development and manufacturing processes, all happening simultaneously in the Studio, and to Yonatan's unique manifest.

About refinements and innovations

A seminar entirely devoted to the world of metals will be held by the Israeli Design Center in Mediatheque Holon on Tuesday, 2nd of September 2008 at 18:30. "The Disappearing Dwarf" - An interactive magnetic game for events

The Game "Disappearing Dwarf" was filled by creator Yoram Bar-Sela with topics taken from his own professions. As an industrial designer, Bezalel graduate, professional and lecturer in marketing and branding in Shenkar College and one of the leading magicians in Israel - he integrated to the game his original ideas of action, problem-solving and witty humor, presented in a unique graphic display.

Master's degree in Industrial Design in Bezalel

Felting Workshop

The International Puppet Theater & Film Festival

An International Puppet Festival will be held on July 18th-22nd 2007 in the new center of the Israeli Puppet Center in Holon and all around the city. Free entrance to the New Israeli Puppet Center throughout the festival.

A Different Design

Israel National Roads company is collaborating with H.I.T - Holon Institute of Technology in a design competition to redo all the intercity bus stations. The company is currently exhibiting 25 final models that were submitted, and on Sunday, July 15th 2007, the winner will be announced.

Design research and strategy as tools for innovation

The Domus Academy in Milan is an establishment well known to anyone interested in design, but few know of DARC, its research center. The Center has gained renown as a consulting center for new and innovative industrial processes, branding and marketing strategies- both in commercial arena and in the virtual one. /by Efrat Friedland.

Israel Museum is beginning a comprehensive renewal process

Jerusalem, June 24th 2007- An 80 million dollar project of rebuilding, upgrading and development of the museum buildings and facilities is on its way. All construction will hopefully be concluded by the museums 45th birthday on May 10th 2010.

News from Academia

Itzik Rennert, illustrator, caricaturist and one the country's leading comics artists, has been chosen to head the Department of Graphic Design in Shenkar.

Made-in-Israel inventions

In honors of the "Quality Week" of the Standards Institution of Israel there will be an inventor's competition sponsored by the Israeli Center for Digital Art for inventors in the Schneider method. Ten school graduates were chosen to participate in this competition based loosely on the television show "Sharks". It will be held on May 30th 2007.
